Our community has experienced rapid population growth during the past decade. We are working very hard to stretch tax dollars to provide much needed services, but as the local economic conditions have declined in recent years and our community needs continue to grow, we must look for other ways to help fund programs. The following is a list of local initiatives for the Town of Dumfries to which you may make a Voluntary Contribution:
- Economic Development & Marketing Programs
- Seniors Programs
- Parks & Recreational Facilities
- Weems-Botts Museum
- Christmas in Dumfries/Shop with a Cop
- Quantico Creek Improvements
Although you may have questions concerning tax implications on your Voluntary Contributions, tax laws are very complex and no single answer will fit every case. These questions are best answered by a tax attorney or by your accountant. We want to thank you for your participation and we will strive to make every penny count.
