The Town of Dumfries Architectural Review Board has a vacant seat available that is open to Town residents or an Advisor with experience related to Architecture, Urban Design, or design related fields. If interested in applying for the vacant seat please submit a letter of intent along with your resume to Debi Sandlin, Director of Community and Economic Development by May 12, 2012. Ginn Memorial Park, located at 3876 Graham Park Road, will be under construction soon. Expect to see improvements beginning in June, with the opening of the park to occur in June or July, 2012.

The first phase will consist of a multi-purpose court available for basketball, a multi-purpose play field, trails, playground equipment, and a gravel parking lot. For a plan of the Phase 1 improvements, click here.

Security measures are not shown on the plan but will be established as part of Phase 1.

Future phases, to be determined at a later date, may include:

• a community center including space for a police presence onsite
• a permanent parking lot to replace the initial gravel parking lot
• additional play equipment
• additional trees, plantings, and buffers
• a community plaza with seating, possibly to include chess tables and horseshoe pits
• community garden plots with rain cisterns
• possible future connections to neighboring properties (if desired)
• a tennis court
• an amphitheater

The purchase of the land for this park was made possible through Community Development Block Grant funding from Prince William County and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
