News from the Police Department

 

A reminder the Town of Dumfries will hold its 40th Annual Christmas-Holiday Parade on Saturday, December 13, 2014.  Residents and businesses are reminded the event creates vehicle and pedestrian congestion throughout the Town.

 

Approximately 30 Police Officers from the Town and County Police Departments, as well as Deputy Sheriffs from the County Sheriff’s Office will be stationed throughout the Town to assist with traffic.

 

As in past years, traffic will be shifted from Main Street to Fraley Boulevard at approximately 11:00 a.m.  Traffic is expected to return to normal at the conclusion of the parade at 3:00 p.m.  During this time period, travel on Main Street, and surrounding streets will be restricted.  Travel to/from parts of Fraley Boulevard will be restricted as well.
