Residential & Non-Residential Trash Removal

How much of you recycling actually gets recycled? Here is your answer

Residential

  • Currently, the Town contracts Bates Trucking and Trash Removal to pick up all residential trash within the Town limits. 
  • Trash pick up day is every Wednesday. Items other than bagged household garbage is considered bulk material. 
  • Bulk pick ups must be scheduled in advance by call Bates at by 2 PM the Tuesday  before Wednesday trash pick up  703-212-9395, Mon - Fri. 8:30 to 5 PM and Saturday 9:00 - 12:00 PM EST.
Please adhere to the following guidelines for trash removal:
  • Secure all material in disposable bags or bundles not to exceed 50 pounds. 
  • When possible, DO NOT throw GLASS in the garbage. Separate clean ,dry, unbroken glass containers (without lids or corks) and dispose at a designated recycling center or the Prince William County Landfill.
  • Waste items should be placed in designated collection area by Tuesday night. 
  • Please place trash directly in a Bates garbage container.
  • Empty dry latex paint cans will be accepted. 
  • Bulk material such as construction debris (dry wall, concrete, bricks, dirt and rocks) automotive parts, hazardous materials, whole tires, and fallen trees are not accepted.
  • Please take recycling materials to designated recycling drop-off, purple cans or the Prince William County Landfill. 
  • Electronics, hazardous materials, large appliances should be disposed of during Household Hazardous Waste events sponsored by Prince William County. 
  • Yard Waste must be placed in paper bags. No plastics bags for leaves, trees, clippings or yard debris. See flyer for detailed information.
Prince William County landfill will take the following items:
  • Construction debris
  • Up to 4 (four) tires at no charge. There is a $2 charge over 4 tires. See PWC web site. 
  • Recycling
  • Motor oil, anti-freeze, oil filters and household batteries. 
  • Scrap Metal
  • Household Hazardous Waste

Non-Residential

Trash removal service is the responsibility of each non-residential property.
