National Museum of the Marine Corps

The National Museum of the Marine Corps is a lasting tribute to U.S. Marines–past, present, and future. Situated on a 135-acre site adjacent to Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia, and under the command of Marine Corps University, the Museum’s soaring design evokes the image of the flag-raisers of Iwo Jima and beckons visitors to this 120,000-square-foot structure. World-class interactive exhibits using the most innovative technology surround visitors with irreplaceable artifacts and immerse them in the sights and sounds of Marines in action.

Quantico National Cemetery

Quantico National Cemetery is located on land that was part of the U.S. Marine Corps training base adjacent to Quantico in Prince William County, Va. The land has been used by the military for over 200 years. First, around 1775 by the Commonwealth of Virginia for Navy operations, and later, as a blockade point for the Confederate army during the Civil War.

Weems-Botts Museum

Once home to Mason Locke Weems, the first biographer of George Washington including curious anecdotes about Washington as a youth barking his father’s cherry tree “I cannot tell a lie” and throwing a stone across the Rappahannock. These stories helped to make George Washington a national hero for all time

Prince William Forest National Park

Experience a place where history and nature unite!  Prince William Forest Park is an oasis of natural beauty and human history located only 35 miles south of Washington, DC. 37 miles of hiking trails and 21 miles of bicycle-accessible roads and trails traverse this 15,000 acre piedmont forest. Beneath its canopy lies evidence of human history reaching back to 8,000 B.C.  Prince William Forest Park is the largest forest in the Metropolitan Washington Region.

A 542 acre state park on a peninsula bordered by the Potomac River, Neabsco Creek and Powells Creek.

Potomac Nationals Minor League Baseball Team

Prince William County is the proud home of the Potomac Nationals, the Carolina League affiliate of the Washington Nationals and the only professional sports franchise in Northern Virginia. The team’s 70-game home game schedule features fireworks every Saturday home game night. The Nationals take the field from April to September.
