Director Of Planning & Community Development
The Director of Planning & Community Development is responsible for leading the Town's development efforts and ensuring proper administration of local ordinances. The Director of Planning & Community Development shall have demonstrated knowledge within one or more planning specialties of transportation planning, comprehensive planning, and/or environmental planning. With minimal supervision, the Director of Planning & Community Development encourages Town development for the purpose of economic growth while simultaneously protecting the Town's environment and heritage. The Director of Planning & Community Development must balance various needs to come up with innovative solutions for development. The Director of Planning & Community Development shall serve as the Town's Zoning Administrator. This position reports directly to the Town Manager and serves on the Town's Executive Leadership Team.

This position shall be responsible for managing the Town Permits and Inspections division. The selected candidate will be an experienced combination inspector and have demonstrated knowledge and experience administering the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code and property maintenance codes. This position will report to the Director of Public Works.

The Town of Dumfries is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual for the position of Staff Accountant in the Finance Office. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for overseeing Accounts Payable, preparing journal entries, month and year-end closing, bank reconciliation, general ledger reconciliation, and assisting with internal monthly financial reporting, and other various financial and accounting reporting functions. This position will report directly to the Director of Finance.
