We hope that you will join us as partners in bringing fresh local food to the Dumfries community!  Applications are now open via ManageMyMarket.com (CLOSING SEPTEMBER 15).  Applications after the deadline will be considered on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of market management.

Application Process

  • Market spots are assigned through an application process
    • After September 15, 2024, market spots will be assigned as applications are approved
  • Applications are submitted through ManageMyMarket.com
    • Open April 20 - September 21, 2024 (After September 15, 2024, applications will be accepted and approved on a rolling basis)
    • Open in December in future years

  • Applicants are chosen based on length of time in the market, diversity of product, amount of space requested, ability to bring a reasonable amount of product to the market, and good citizenship in the market.
  • Space is very limited, so vendors offering products already supplied by a current vendor are less likely to be chosen.
Before applying, please review the Market's Rules and Regulations

  • As part of the ManageMyMarket application, each vendor agrees to follow the Market Rules as outlined in this document.
  • Vendors must agree to the Town of Dumfries Hold Harmless Agreement included within the ManageMyMarket application (as outlined in the Market Rules).
  • All vendors must carry liability insurance for a minimum of $1,000,000 in general liability and list the "Town of Dumfries" as additionally insured, using the address:  17739 Main Street, Suite 200, Dumfries, VA 22026.
  • For the inaugural year of the market opening, we are offering a promotional rate of only $100 for the 10x10 ft space for the season.  Each vendor must also pay a $25 application fee upon acceptance.
  • Designated vendors are able to accept SNAP/EBT, SNAP Match, and Dumfries Dollars.

Eligible Vendors

  • Only Producers may sell at this Market.  The term "Producer" as used in these rules and regulations means the grower to include immediate family members, legal partner(s), and/or employees.  Selling of items purchased from or provided by another Producer, wholesaler, or market is not permitted.
  • All goods sold at the Market must be grown or produced within 125 miles of the Town of Dumfries.  For difficult to find products, the Market may decide to extend the radius in order to maintain a full and vibrant selection of vendors.
  • Producers may use non-local ingredients in their products, but primary consideration will be given to traditional agricultural products from this region.  Special consideration will be given to Producers that feature seasonal flavors based on locally sourced ingredients.
    • Products that may be sold include but are not limited to: fruits, sausages, vegetables, cider, honey, cut flowers, potted and bare-root plants, baked goods, jams, jellies, eggs, refrigerated products, and items.
    • Cigarette or vaping products are not permitted.
  • Producers of specialty products not traditionally grown in this region (coffee, olive oil, chocolate, tea, etc.) referred to as "specialty vendors" will be admitted on a case by case basis at the direction of the Town of Dumfries.  All decisions are final.
  • The Town of Dumfries is committed to diversity and building an equitable and inclusive marketplace for people of all backgrounds and experiences.  We encourage members of traditionally underrepresented groups to apply to sell at the market, including people of color, LGBTQ+ people, veterans, and people with disabilities.  We do not discriminate and will take action to prevent discrimination against any vendor or applicant on the basis of race, color, national origin, gender, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, age, religion, creed, disability, or veteran status.

APPLY NOW

  • Applications must be thoroughly completed and include as much detail as possible about the Producer and the business in order to be competitive.
  • Incomplete profiles on ManageMyMarket make it difficult to learn more about your business and may impact your chances of approval.
  • You can only sell the items listed and approved in the "products" section of your ManageMyMarket profile.
  • Primary consideration will be given to sustainable farmers and producers utilizing locally grown ingredients in their products
